Cocoa skin care company names new CEO

COCOA - Sun & Skin Care Research LLC Cocoa has named Stuart J. Straus its new chief executive officer.

Straus, a Miami Beach native, brings to SSCR a three-decade track record of success in managing beauty and personal care brands.

"Sun & Skin Care Research brands have an extraordinary and diverse heritage," Straus said in a statement released today. "Our beach-tested Ocean Potion brand, our outdoor enthusiast, high -performance BullFrog brand, and our value-quality NO-AD offering are among the most iconic in the USA, where all of our products are proudly made and marketed."

Straus, an entrepreneur, has been an owner of a personal care company, and has had notable success collaborating with retailers. He is an advocate of "co-creation," which is the practice of creating new brands and new products in exclusive partnerships with companies like Wal-Mart or Walgreens.

Straus for the past three years was the CEO of Personal Care Products LLC, a Troy, Mich.-based firm.

His accomplishments there included refocusing on building differentiated brands, developing new relationships, and becoming vendor of record with strategic retailers like Walgreens, Wal-Mart, CVS, and Kroger.

SSCR brands include Ocean Potion, BullFrog, NO-AD, and PARROT HEAD from Margaritaville.

All SSCR products are proudly made in Cocoa.
