Cullman Regional Medical Center Foundation awards grant for lymphedema education

The Cullman Regional Medical Center Foundation recently awarded the CRMC Rehabilitation Services Department a grant for three therapists to attend a continuing education course to study manual lymphatic therapy.

"This was a great opportunity to train our therapists in treatment techniques to help decrease arm and leg swelling resulting from cancer and poor circulation," said JW Hightower, Director of Rehab Services.

By attending this seminar, the therapists were able to gain further clinical knowledge for lymphatic treatment. This will allow Rehab Services to better serve people in our community who have been diagnosed with lymphedema and need lymphatic therapy.

"We are excited to have specially trained therapists so that we can provide the best treatment to people in our community who are suffering from these problems," Hightower said.
