Was my Friday night ‘must attend’ party as awesome as I had expected it to be?
Not so much.
Granted, there was a topless woman in the pool who later got escorted out of the party, a couple of celebrity sightings, cocktails, a lot of cocktails, and Azealia Banks performing and yeah, what else do you expect from the Terry Richardson book signing party and after party at The Standard?
Well, I expected a little more.
I don’t know what, but more dancing, more fashions, more flesh… just more.
What I did expect and got delivered were the downtown characters from LA, NYC and Miami all in the same space, dressed in everything polka dots, patterned chained shirts and floral anything, all walking around the poolside deck at Standard taking pictures with their phones and instagraming to #HTClovesTerry.

Most of the time, the crowd stood around, and I guess that has a lot to do with the music selection. But when Azealia Banks took the stage, that all turned around. She had us dancing and singing to her lyrics, and having had the luck to have been next to the stage when it she got on, it was perfect. She’s tiny and I got to capture her performance without having to tear through the crowd.
Overall, mission accomplished and on to the next party. Oh yeah, thanks Terry for the thumbs up.
