AN award-winning brewery is aiming for a barrel load of fun at a summer festival next month.

Rainford based George Wright Brewery has joined forces with the team behind this summer’s highly anticipated Rainford Summer Festival to create a special summer themed beer for the event.

The Festival Beer, which has a summery citrus flavour with hints of tropical mango, comes complete with a special ‘sunflower’ label.

It will be available to be bought at the event, which takes place on Saturday, July 13, from 11am to 5pm.

The village celebration, which will be hosted on the school site, will feature traditional fairground attractions, an artisan market, local food court and school Summer Pops-style performances.

Working closely with Rainford Parish Council, organisers say the event is designed to showcase the college’s new facilities and students, as well as forming a major celebration for the whole village.

Brewer Gary Wright expressed his delight at being involved with the festival: “This is a fantastic event for the whole village.

“We are really proud of the new high school site and this is a great way of showcasing everything the village has to offer.”

Rainford High principal Ian Young said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from businesses across the village.

“As one of our main sponsors, George Wright’s involvement in the festival has been key and we are delighted to have a well respected local name on board.”

If you would like to get involved with the Rainford Summer Festival, limited stalls and exhibition opportunities are still available.
