Free boater safety course offered at Savannah Mall Saturday

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Marine Patrol Unit will conduct a boater safety course 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 at the SCMPD training facility in Savannah Mall, second floor next to Dillard's.

The course is free and is required of boaters of certain ages to operate certain vessels. DNR requires a Social Security Number to register and participants must be at least 12 years old.

The class is limited to 30 participants. This class will be offered again July 18.
