She's spent the past few days attending a plethora of glamorous parties and photocalls as she promotes her latest movie at the Cannes Film Festival.

But 48 hours of schmoozing and smiling in the playground of the rich and famous appeared to have taken its toll on Rooney Mara as she stepped out on Monday morning.

The 28-year-old actress covered her eyes with a pair of dark sunglasses as she went for a stroll along La Croisette with a group of friends during a rare break from her promotional duties.

In spite of the star's relentless schedule of late, she was showing off her enviably flawless skin by opting for a bare-faced look as she soaked up the sun on the French Riviera.

Rooney covered up from the sunshine in a long black wool coat and LBD, while wearing her dark brunette locks scraped back off her face into a chic bun.

On Sunday evening, the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star cut a stylish figure as she attended the For The Love Of Cinema event hosted by Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

The raven-haired beauty opted for a dramatic monochrome dress with panel detailing on the bust, which she teamed with towering peep-toe heels and vampy lips which complemented her perfect porcelain skin.

And earlier in the day, Rooney had been hard at work promoting her latest movie, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, alongside co-star Casey Affleck and director David Lowery.

The previous evening, both Rooney and Casey attended an exclusive party hosted by CÎROC Ultra-Premium Vodka at Nikki Beach to toast the success of the movie at the festival.
