Video: UFC 172's Jon Jones on 'Live with Kelly and Michael'

Something tells me Regis Philbin would have made a great welterweight champion...

Being a champion is not always about guts and glory.

The amount of press obligations can be exhausting. Former champion Georges St. Pierre knows all about that.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will be defending his strap against Glover Teixeira this weekend (Sat., April 26, 2014) at UFC 172, which means he'll be booked with approximately 60-70 interviews, according to his manager, Malki Kawa.

"Bones" stopped by "Live with Kelly and Michael" this morning, hyping up his fight and also showing both hosts a thing or two about striking and jiu-jitsu (thanks to our friends at Middle Easy for the link).

Watch the New Yorker join a suited-up Kelly Ripa and former New York Giants standout Michael Strahan as they engage in a little training session, courtesy of the prolific light heavyweight kingpin. Ripa was very motivated to "hurt someone," meaning she could really be a great match up for Ronda Rousey down the line if she keeps on doing well in these training sessions. Strahan was even submitted by the champion, proving that Jones really is as great as everyone says he is.

Who would have thought?

As for Strahan, he may be a great opponent for Jones' brother, Arthur Jones, if Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) would be enticed to book that one. In all seriousness, I'd be more than happy to dish out 50 bucks for that fight.

Jones faces Teixeira at UFC 172: "Jones vs. Teixeira" in Baltimore this weekend. Check out the finalized fight card here.
