Battle Creek Pennfield at Parma Western football wins second Game of the Week poll

JACKSON – The second Jackson-area high school football Game of the Week poll is now closed and the winner is Battle Creek Pennfield (0-1) at Parma Western (1-0).

The game, which will be played at 7 p.m. Friday, finished with 3,416 votes for 56 percent of the tally. Michigan Center (0-1) at Vandercook Lake (1-0) finished in second place with 2,241 votes.

Jackson (0-1) at Lansing Everett (0-1) and Reading (1-0) at Jonesville (0-1) were also in the running, but finished well back with just 415 combined votes.

Pennfield will play Western in a matchup of the newly-formed Interstate-8 Athletic Conference. Western won its opener, 35-20, against Lake Odessa Lakewood while Pennfield lost 27-22 to Olivet. As the winner of the Game of the Week poll, there will be extensive coverage leading up to the game as well as live-game coverage, multiple stories and photos.
