CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - James Drew Hodson passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Corpus Christi, TX after an extended illness.

He was born October 24, 1950, the son of Ivan and Ruby Hodson.

James worked for Advanced Copy Products, Sanders TV Repair, and AB Dick, all in Muncie. In Corpus Christi he taught electrical engineering at Delmar College; was president, CEO and CFO of D & J Electronics, and a senior engineer with ICON and Ricoh USA, both in Indianapolis and Corpus Christi.

James was a past president of the Corpus Christi Yacht Club, and the past president of the Anchor Resort on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi. He was a certified captain who possessed several electrical engineering, real estate, and computer licenses.

He enjoyed playing baseball with Richard Green and others for Local 287, coached by his father Ivan; playing with the Muncie Chiefs Travel Baseball Team; bowling, fishing and hunting.

James had many other activities, including boating, relaxing and playing with his dogs, cooking out, golfing, reading, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Jane Hodson, Corpus Christi; five children, Angela Renee Sergent, Walton, KY, Bonnie Virameontez, James Adams, Joshua Hodson and Amber Paige Pena, all of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; his mother, Ruby Hodson, Muncie; two brothers, Mike Hodson, Parker City, and Gary Hodson (Sandy), Nova Scotia, Canada; a sister, Beth Ann (Sis) Angel, Yorktown; several nieces and nephews, including Tracy Fausset, Joni Clark (Greg), Brad Hodson (April), Bret Hodson (Kelly), Mark Hodson (Andrea) and Ryan Angel; close friends, Johnnie Walker Black, Pat Vandegriff, Debi Burgess and Donna; one great-great-grandniece; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

James was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Hodson; grandparents, Bessie and Frank Rhoades, and Ada and Ida Hodson; sister-in-law, Pat Hodson; and two nephews, Kevin Hodson and Eli Karac Yeager.

A private family celebration of life was held September 11, 2014 at the historic Duncan Cemetery in Laguna Madre, Corpus Christi, Texas.
