Severe weather blew through area Thursday evening
Severe weather blew through Maryland on Thursday evening, causing some flooding along the Eastern Shore and knocking down trees in other parts of the state.The storms dumped a lot of rain in some areas, such as North Ocean City, where residents had to deal with flash flooding along Coastal Highway, just days before the holiday weekend rush shows up.Mobile users, tap here for videoIn Queen Anne's County, SkyTeam 11 found a large tree that fell across McGinnis Road near Route 301 in Sudlersville. Other trees fell on Main Street in the Crumpton area.Viewers also snapped pictures of severe weather in other areas. Pat from Galena, Kent County, sent 11 News a photos of hail in her yard; 11 News Facebook follower Bryan shared a photo of hail that fell in Laurel; and another viewer sent in video of hail coming down in Beverly Beach, Anne Arundel County.The problems weren't just confined to Maryland.Strong winds knocked down some small buildings in Camden, Del. Officials said two people were hurt and about a dozen homes were damaged.Parts of Pennsylvania saw widespread hail damage, too. In Berks County, golf ball-sized hail shattered windshields on some cars.In New York State, near Albany, strong winds caused a lot of damage, even completely destroying a house. Officials are trying to determine if a tornado touched down there.10046526
