Current Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin did not leave the state of Tennessee on the best of terms in 2010. Kiffin became the head coach at the University of Tennessee at the age of 33, becoming the youngest active coach in Division I football at the time, but after one disappointing 7-6 season and a loss in the Chick-fil-a Bowl, Kiffin left to become the head coach at USC. Just this week, Kiffin was used in a political attack ad in Tennessee.

Kiffin and Alabama aren’t expecting a warm welcome, and a few days before the Crimson Tide rolls into Knoxville, a person purporting to be Layla Kiffin tweeted (from an unverified account, but one followed by Lane Kiffin himself) a few jokes for Volunteers’ fans.

Naturally, UT fans did not think this was very funny.

(Update): The University of Alabama confirmed that the Twitter account is a fake, but that still doesn’t explain why Kiffin follows it.
