Despite all the reports coming out of NBC's Today show over the past few weeks following the termination of network exec Jamie Horowitz, Kathie Lee's partner in crime, Hoda Kotb claims that it is one of the happiest places to work in the whole world. Speaking of TV tension, Ray Rice recently told Matt Lauer that he was really just the victim of being judged from the actions of "one bad night." But the NFL hopeful promised that even if he never played again he would sacrifice to make this up to the wife that he physically assaulted.
Despite the fact the that their boss was reportedly just fired by Matt Lauer's friends in power at NBC for plotting to fire too many cast member, Hoda Kotb says that working on the Today show has been like a dream come true from day one to right this very moment.
Kathy Lee's drinking buddy told People Magazine that when you are on the inside looking out it certainly doesn't feel like a vipers nest ready to consume itself from the inside out:
"Morale's good.
"I've got to tell you on the inside-out, look: You can peek into someone's life and look at the mirrors and go, 'Oh my god, what's going on there?
"But I work in one of the most joyful, fun places...We're putting on a musical on Friday, which you know is going to be tragic, tragically hysterical."
Hoda went on to explain that you would have to be crazy to walk into Today and not suddenly be overwhelmed by how awesome it is:
"I walk in and Al [Roker] hugs me, Matt [Lauer] high-fives me, Kathie Lee [Gifford] gives me wine -- I mean, what else is there?
"It's a great, fun environment, and I'm not even a BS-er about stuff like that. I don't like going to a place here I wouldn't enjoy working.
"I absolutely treasure every day."
Ray Rice also had his dream job just a few short months ago, but now he knows that may be gone forever.
During a recent interview with Mat Lauer for Today, Rice explained that he could become a productive member of NFL society once again, if an organization was just willing to look past his blatant and well documented assault of a defenseless woman to see the real, hardworking Ray inside (via ABC News):
"[A prospective team] would have to be willing to look deeper into who I am and realize that me and my wife had one bad night.
"I took full responsibility for everything that I did, and the only thing I can hope for and wish for is a second chance."
But even if Ray never gets back into the NFL, he told Lauer he was still determined to prove to his gold digging wife that he really appreciates the loyalty she's showed after he tried to deflate her eye socket in an elevator:
"If I never play football again, I'll be honest with you, I would adapt into life and I would sacrifice more so she can have a better future."
Right...because who wouldn't want to be the first team to virtually let Ray Rice of the hook for brining more negative attention to the league in a single afternoon that the Dallas Cowboys did throughout the entire 90's?
