Derby Poker Celebrity Bourbon Bash

Southern Gaming Magazine’s Derby Poker Celebrity Bourbon Bash, sponsored by Jim Beam and DraftKings, returns to the Derby week party scene for the eighth consecutive year.

Hosted by Hall of Fame coach Denny Crum and poker professional Robert Williamson III, this year’s event will also celebrate the 35th anniversary of University of Louisville’s 1980 National Championship with a special viewing of the title game with Crum and members of the team, including Darrell Griffith, Scooter McCray, Wiley Brown, Roger Burkman, Jerry Eaves, Tony Branch, Greg Deuser, coach Jerry Jones and team trainer Jerry Eaves.

Other celebs expected to attend include Warren Moon, Nora Roberts, Robby Albarado, Troy Hanson, Luke Hancock, Mario Urrutia, Cheech Marin, Ruben Studdard, Kris Allen, Bob Guiney, Diego Klattenhoff, Claire Foriani and more.

The poker bash is Thursday at The Olmsted at the Masonic Homes, 3701 Frankfort Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m.; Southern Gaming’s Oaks-Derby Handicapping Panel is at 7:30; Tony & The Tanlines take the stage at 8:30.

Tickets are $100 each (or 10 for $750); poker buy-ins are $550 (includes party ticket) and can be purchased at www.DerbyPokerParty.com or by calling Blessings in a Backpack at (800) 872-4366, Ext. 103, through Friday. They will then be available at the entrance of the event.
