Emma Roberts has been laying low since the 22-year-old actress was arrested following an alleged domestic dispute with her “American Horror Story” co-star and boyfriend Evan Peters.
Her father, actor Eric Roberts, defended the “We’re the Millers” star when TMZ cameras caught up with his family leaving LAX airport.
“Here’s the thing about couples,” the 57-year-old “Dark Knight” actor said, walking alongside his wife Eliza Roberts and stepson Keaton Simons. “Unless you’re one of those people, you do not know what happened.”
Emma Roberts was arrested at a Montreal hotel on June 7, after a loud argument with Peters, 26, disturbed other guests.
Police confirmed light injuries to both parties, and TMZ reported that Peters sustained a bloody nose and bite marks. Roberts was led away in handcuffs, but Peters declined to press charges.
“It’s their business,” her father added. “She’s in good shape… they’re grown-ups.”
After the altercation a representative for Roberts and Peters issued a joint statement.
“It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,” it read. “The couple are working together to move past it.”
Roberts and Peters were seen hugging and kissing again days after the incident. They have both since returned to work on the New Orleans set of “American Horror Story.”
