Taylor Kitsch wants his next role to be a “True” one.
Kitsch said in an interview with AdWeek that he’s on board for HBO’s “True Detective” after months of speculation, saying that he “can’t f–king wait to hit the camera” on the drama.
“Yeah, I’m really excited,” the “Normal Heart” actor told AdWeek. “I’ve just been prepping. It’s been almost a full year since I’ve been on camera, so I’m itching, man. I’m overdue.”
“You want to work, but you also don’t want to just water it down and work for the sake of working,” he said. “So, it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True.”
The actor received widespread attention for his role in NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” and most recently was seen in the HBO film “The Normal Heart,” last year’s “Lone Survivor” and a “Call of Duty” commercial.
Kitsch said he would be shooting on location in L.A. with a contemporary setting.

HBO has yet to confirm the casting. Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn are already on board for the show’s second season, and Rachel McAdams is said to be locking down the female lead.
