Minnesota Twins vs Baltimore Orioles Preview
The Minnesota Twins are headed to Oriole Park at Camden Yards to do battle with AL East leading Baltimore. Fresh off dropping three out of four games to the Kansas City Royals, the Twins will look to turn the tide against more stiff competition. Minnesota played well against the AL East earlier in the season.

Minnesota has scuffled of late, winning only four out of their last ten ball games. The Orioles welcome the Twins on the other end of the spectrum, having won six of their last ten contests.
Trevor May toes the rubber in game one for the Twins. May’s call up has been anticipated since early this summer, but unfortunately the early returns haven’t been great. In his last three starts, he is 0-2 with an ERA north of seven and only seven strikeouts. Miguel Gonzalez will oppose may for the Orioles. Gonzalez doesn’t do anything fancy, but is basically a quality start pitcher.
Game two pits Kyle Gibson against Chris Tillman. Gibson has continued his up and down season, with a down outing in his last time out against the Tigers. He will look to right the ship Saturday. Tillman has been lights out of late for the Orioles. In his last three starts, he is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA.
Ricky Nolasco will go for the Twins in game three on Sunday. Although having pitched most of the year hurt, Nolasco turned in a solid outing earlier this week against the Royals. Wei-Yin Chen will oppose him for the Orioles. Chen has also been good for the Orioles sporting a 2.84 ERA over his last three starts, while striking out 13.
For the final game of the series on Monday, the Twins will send Phil Hughes to the mound. The young Kevin Gausman will look to knock him off for the Orioles. Hughes turned in another good start against the Royals before giving up the winning runs and forcing his exit. Gausman has been largely mediocre and is coming back to the club after being optioned to the Gulf Coast Orioles.
Look for the Twins to split the series with May getting his first major league win in game one. Minnesota needs to start tallying more numbers in the win column if they want to avoid yet another 90 loss season.
Game one is scheduled for Friday night with a first pitch set for 6:05 pm central time.
