Rotering To Run For Congress

Highland Park's Mayor hopes to unseat Bob Dold.

Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering is running for Congress in the 10th District.

The Chicago Tribune reported Rotering made the announcement she will seek to have a chance to unseat Rep. Bob Dold, a Kenilworth Republican, Tuesday morning.

“I will be a consistent advocate for a woman’s right to choose, for accessibility to quality health care and a staunch defender of Israel, our only democratic ally in the Middle East,” Rotering said in a statement. “I bring a lifetime of advocacy reflecting the progressive values of our district and a record of producing real results to a Congress that has achieved little in recent years.”

Rotering could face Deerfield Democrat Brad Schneider, who previously held the post before losing to Dold in 2014 - in a primary. Schneider recently told the Chicago Sun-Times he has “all but decided” to run as well.
