Oops! Dancing With The Stars winner Kelly Monaco forgets her fancy footwork and takes embarrassing tumble as she exits nightclub

She wowed judges and viewers alike with her nimble quickstep and fancy foxtrot to be crowned the first ever winner of Dancing With The Stars.

But it would appear Kelly Monaco is no longer quite as light on her feet.

The model and soap star tripped and fell as she left a Hollywood club late on Friday night.

The 38-year-old only just managed to spare her blushes as she fell down the curb outside Warwick nightclub in a very short black mini dress.

A grimacing Kelly lost her footing in five inch heeled mini boots.

Luckily, as she fell backwards her friends were there for support and she clung on tight to her male companion.

Earlier in the night, she had been reunited with her DWTS friends Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Cheryl Burke who is also a dancer on the show.

She posted a picture of the trio to her Instagram account, captioning it: 'Had a great night with some great friends. Missed my @cherylburke and @maksimc soo much.'

Kelly, who starred in the long running soap General Hospital, won the inaugural season of the hit ABC production back in 2005 partnered with Alec Mazo.

However she was a controversial winner with accusations of favoritism because General Hospital was also aired on ABC.

After the victory she told the Television Critics Association: 'I do not hold anything personally. I’m not going to go home and cry because someone did not like my dancing.

'I felt from the beginning this is fun for me. ... If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. I wouldn’t be sitting here if the whole world hated what I did.'

Kelly also returned to the dance floor back in 2012 in the All Star edition, where she partnered with Val Chmerkovskiy - the pair came in third with first place going to Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani.

In fact, Kelly's dancing relationship with Val was so succesful, that they were even the subject of romantic rumours.

'I've been down a really rough road in my life … I've put up a lot of walls and I don't let many people in,' she told People.com midway through the contest.

'He's slowly allowing me to believe in friendships and relationships and trust and all of that, you know?'
