After dating Katy Perry and their subsequent breakup, many fans presumed that John Mayer would bounce right back. Unfortunately, a new tabloid article suggests that John may be anorexic. The gossip rag even posted photos of the allegedly too-thin star while he was on tour promoting his latest music.
In case you haven't seen photos of John Mayer recently, then you might not be aware that the crooner has loss a great deal of weight. According to some estimates, Mr. Mayer has dropped an astonishing 30 lbs.
And while the reason for his weight loss remains unknown, one source told the October 20 edition of OK! that it has a lot to do with his breakup from pop-star Katy Perry.
Despite the fact that the two broke up back in February, John still seems to be taking the split pretty hard:
"John thought that he found Ms. Right in Katy, so he definitely slacked on his workouts while they were together...Since the breakup, he's lost much more weight than he put on-and his friends are worried he's going overboard...He only eats foods he thinks burn fat...He's starting to look unhealthy-but the problem is, he thinks he looks great."
To make matters worse for John, he reportedly experienced a bit of an embarrassment on a recent trip to the legendary Bowery Hotel.
According to one insider who spoke with New York Daily News, John showed up at the swanky joint around 1:00 a.m., with about 20 people in his party, and Mayer was denied access to the lounge:
"John was clearly very embarrassed and frustrated that they couldn't accommodate him and his friends...I actually even said to the door guy, 'That's B.J. Novak and John Mayer - you should let them in.' He just said, 'I know who they are.'"
Yikes!
