The longest-running American soap opera in production still continues to keep its fans riveted and glued to their screens for updates on the lives of their favorite soap characters. Now, fans of "General Hospital' may be surprised to learn that one of its legendary stars might not be coming back to the show in October.

Actor Anthony Geary, who has been playing the part of Luke Spencer for 35 years on the show, is said to be suffering from painful back injuries due to his passion for extreme sports. Recent x-rays of the soap star's back revealed two almost complete breaks, and the actor underwent two surgeries back in April to correct this condition. He was advised to take some time off to recover, and was warned by his doctors that healing was going to be slow and that he should take it easy.

Whether Geary returns or not to 'General Hospital' is yet to be confirmed, but for now, here are some spoilers for the week:

July 16:
