Stephanie Inn (2740 S. Pacific Street, Cannon Beach; 503-436-2221, 800-633-3466; stephanieinn.com) is a luxurious oceanfront hotel with superb service, comfortable rooms and many complimentary daily amenities including a gourmet chef's breakfast buffet, an afternoon wine and beer gathering and an evening night cap. The hotel also features two beautifully appointed spa treatment rooms. Guest rooms and suites are designed with privacy and relaxation in mind complete with gas fireplaces, Jacuzzi baths and wet bars. Excellent Northwest-inspired cuisine is served in the dining room; a multi-course prix-fixe menu with wine flight pairing is superb (reservations required). Be prepared, this first-class venue charges first-class prices.
The Ocean Lodge (2864 S. Pacific Street, Cannon Beach; 503-436-2241, 888-777-4047; theoceanlodge.com) is a 1940s-style beach resort situated on a long stretch of sandy beach and is ideal for families, romantic getaways and small retreats. The property is very appealing with a large river rock fireplace in the lobby and a library stocked with books and games which is adjacent to a cozy room with complimentary breakfast and all-day hot beverages and cookies. Guest accommodations are tastefully furnished with gas fireplaces, balconies, microwaves and snack refrigerators. Four-pawed family members are also welcome. All this at moderate prices.
Lodges at Cannon Beach (132 E. Surfcrest Avenue, Cannon Beach; 503-436-9085, 877-261-9184; lodgesatcbhotel.com) feature two- and three-bedroom townhouses which accommodate up to six adults. Units are outfitted with every convenience to make your stay as comfortable as home: state-of-the-art kitchens, roomy master suites, open floor plans and great rooms for endless relaxing or playing games. Rates are $299 up to $549. The beach is a short block from your front door.
