NEW YORK, NY --
Two members of Union College athletic teams were introduced and recognized on the court of "The World's Most Famous Arena," Madison Square Garden.

Union senior goalkeeper Allison Brustowicz of the women's soccer team joined sophomore libero Katherine Moeller of the women's volleyball team at Madison Square Garden on December 14. Both players had received ECAC weekly honors during their seasons, and thus received invitations to New York City.

The ECAC celebrated the achievements of the weekly honorees at MSG during the first game of the Holiday Festival, which featured Manhattan vs. Rutgers in a men's basketball contest.  The student-athletes were recognized at half court and on the MSG Garden Vision.

Brustowicz was named to the Liberty League All Star First Team. She established herself as the league's top goalkeeper by recording eight shutouts, a 0.68 goals-against average and a .874 save percentage. In conference games, Brustowicz lead the league in saves (40), shared top honors for shutouts (3) and posted the third-lowest goals-against average (0.70).   She was named ECAC Upstate Defensive Player of the Week, chosen Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week and recognized on the Liberty League Honor Roll.  Brustowicz is the first Union goalkeeper to make the First Team since Julie Gawronski in 2004.

Moeller was selected to the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Division III Honorable Mention All-America Team. Previously, she had been selected to the AVCA Division III New York All-Region First Team, Liberty League Championships All-Tournament Team and Liberty League All Star Second Team. Moeller had 749 digs, 5.90 per set to lead the league. and posted 28 digs in the match against Clarkson in the League Semifinals, eclipsing the 1,000 career digs plateau. She received Liberty League weekly player honors and was named ECAC Libero of the Week. Moeller was also named to the league honor roll twice this season.

"Going on the court and being honored at Madison Square Garden for the ECAC awards was truly exciting and something I won't soon forget," said Brustowicz. "It was a very rewarding experience validating all the hard work and hours of practice I've dedicated to soccer. I was proud to represent Union Women's Soccer and as a senior it was a great way to end my soccer career."

"With all of the bright lights and cameras on me, I felt so proud to be there representing my team and my school," said Moeller.
