Ray LaMontagne: Facebook commenters berate artist after he storms off stage at Meijer Gardens

GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- The debate of concert etiquette and artist behavior moved to Ray LaMontagne's Facebook page following his sold-out performance Wednesday at Frederik Meijer Gardens.

LaMontagne apparently swore at the audience and stormed off the stage in response to concertgoers talking in the front row during his performance.

Many commenters did not take too kindly to the Grammy-winning singer/ songwriter’s antics described by audience members.

Harsh words were also said about his dedication and attitude as an artist.

Some we’re simply saddened by the occurrence during what they believed would be a family-friendly event.

Still, some commenters were understanding of the situation -- causing heated back-and-forth between LaMontagne’s supporters and dissenters.

Others offered thanks for an otherwise wonderful evening.

The discussion on Facebook reiterated concerns previously expressed via Twitter.

The artist did not appear to have responded to any of the comments by Thursday morning.
