“The View” is taking a long look into its future.
Brooke Shields, radio stars Angie Martinez, Carolina Bermudez and even Ross “The Intern” Matthews are all among those being buzzed about as potential replacements for Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who were axed from the show on Thursday.
“They’ve been talking to Angie (Martinez) for a while,” a source told The News.
But landing Martinez, a longtime New York radio staple — who ditched Hot 97 for rival Power 105.1 earlier this month — may prove tricky because of her new gig.
Bermudez has also been a radio star. She appeared on Z100’s “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” from 2005 to 2012 when she joined WLNY’s now canceled morning show, “Live From The Couch.”
Shields’ name has frequently surfaced as a potential “View” co-host over the years and she’s done well when she’s filled in as a substitute co-host.
“I’ve hosted it, I’ve had so much fun … but they haven’t asked,” she told “Extra” last year when asked about the possibility of replacing Joy Behar — who left the show in 2013.
“There’s a lot of changes happening over there. I have no idea what they’re thinking or what they’re doing.”
Other potential names circulating Friday as potential replacements included Matthews and former NFL player Jesse Palmer.
Both have sat in on “The View” in the past.
In an April interview Barbara Walters, who stepped down from hosting the show in May, but still serves as its executive producer said, ” I thought when I created it, the show might last two years. These women are wonderful, and I don’t know, maybe, maybe we’ll add a man … ah, what a thought.”
Walters added, “I think we’ll try some different people, and I think it would be nice to add a man.”
