LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- McKayla Maroney, Olympic gold gymnast and originator of the "not impressed" face, said fans are supporting her after her nude photos, which she originally called fake, were leaked on the Internet.

The Olympian was one of dozens of celebrities whose nude photos were leaked onto the Internet after a hacker gained access to numerous iCloud accounts last week.

Maroney addressed the incident Monday on Twitter, calling the photos fake. She also thanked her fans for defending her.

On Tuesday, she told a TMZ reporter her fans were supportive, but politely smiled and declined to say anything more of her thoughts on the matter.

Though Maroney claimed the nude photos were fake, her attorney sent a letter to Porn.com, insisting the website remove the images because the gymnast was underage at the time they were taken. Maroney turned 18 in December.

A representative for Porn.com told TMZ they immediately removed the images after they received the letter.
