Train Hits Tractor Trailer in Cartersville
The accident occurred along Riverside Drive near S.R. 113, and the driver of the big rig was transported to the hospital for treatment.
An accident involving a tractor trailer and a train snarled traffic Thursday afternoon in unincorporated Cartersville.
The trail collided with the tractor trailer along the railroad tracks on Riverside Drive near S.R. 113 just west of the city limits, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said.
Injuries were reported and HAZMAT crews were called in to investigate any possible leakage stemming from the wreck, the agency said in its Nixle alert.

Bartow County Scanner reported on its Facebook page that the driver of the tractor trailer complained of leg pain. EMS crews checked the patient, and “discovered a possible fracture to the left leg just above the ankle,” the post said.
The driver was transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment.
