(PIX11) — The Felix Organization was created to support children growing up in foster care. It was created 8 years ago by Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Emmy Award winning casting director, Sheila Jaffe. Both are adoptees and are grateful to have been “taken home.” Compelled to use their resources and experiences, they started this organization.

The organization provides inspiring opportunities and new experiences to enrich the lives of children who are growing up in the foster care system.

Each year the organization sends almost 1,000 kids to ‘Camp Felix’ for 1-to-4week sessions.

To help raise money for Camp Felix, the Felix Organization is hosting a dance-a-thon fundraiser called “Dance This Way” on Sept 28th at The Cutting Room.
