Jang Geun Suk takes over Asia
Jang Geun Suk, the star of hit Korean drama "You're Beautiful"/ "You're Handsome", has undoubtedly taken over Asia including countries like Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. The actor has recently won the "Most Influential Korean Artist Award" in the 15th China Music Awards and Asian Influential Awards held in Qingdao China. Music
As if to show how art imitates life, Jang Geun Suk who famously starred as lead singers Hwang Te Kyung in "You're Beautiful" and Kang Mu Gyul in "Mary Goes Out All Night" recently released his Japanese single entitled "Let Me Cry". The singer has proven his X-factor as "Let Me Cry" placed at the top of the respected Oricon daily singles chart beating out fellow Korean superstar SNSD (Girls Generation).
Modeling
With his undeniable popularly, Jang Geun Suk has signed on as the official endorser of beauty brand Nature Republic. Nature Republic is a top beauty brand which also signed Korean superstar Rain to endorse its products. Aside from Nature Republic, Jang Geun Suk is also endorsing Suntory Makgeolli, a brand of Korean rice wine. Fans have been treated to commercials of the actor teaching Japanese viewers how to drink makgeolli. In impeccable Japanese, he explains, "Softly shake the can 4 to 5 times. If you shake it too much, the drink can will explode." He goes on to demonstrate how to do the task in the quintessential Jang Geun Suk way—which in simple terms means "swoon worthy"!
iPhone Application
Jang Geun Suk also leads the pack in innovation. He has recently released his own "Jang Geun Suk Application" for iPhone users. The application allows his fans to send real-time messages and see photos the actor uploads. The application also enables the actor to interact directly with fans. Jang Geun Suk expressed excitement for his own iPhone app. He expressed that: "It's a lot of fun being able to communicate to my fans in this way. Since a long time, I had written diary-type letters to my fans but I wondered what they were thinking as well. I am addicted to this app because it is so easy to use and it is real-time."
Asian Tour
Jang Geun Suk has promised fans that he will have his Asian tour this year and he is delivering on that promise. Having kicked-off his tour in Singapore last April 22, the star is also set to bring his "The Cri Show" to Malaysia on June 4, 2011. The popular star has also announced other tour stops including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and China. Too bad, the Philippines is not a stop. Oh well, maybe he'll add a visit to the Philippines within the year too.
