When the panel opened up the floor for questions, the first fan asked McIntyre about his replacing the late Andy Whitfield on the show. In response, McIntyre, along with Bennett and McKnight, lead the crowd in a standing ovation to honor the former Spartacus. Bennett also mentioned Whitfield's documentary Be Here Now, which revolves around the actor and his struggle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But in addition to the more solemn moments, there was a lot of palling around between McIntyre and Bennett to break things up as well. You could definitely tell they were enjoying their time on stage, and the audience became even more lively as a result. But things got even more exciting when Lucy Lawless made a surprise appearance. Shortly thereafter, Nick Tarabay, Peter Mensah, Craig Parker, Katrina Law, Lesley-Ann Brandt and Viva Bianca also took to the stage for additional questions about their experiences on the show.As for the conclusion of the Spartacus series, DeKnight hinted that the "I am Spartacus" scene from the end of the original film will not be directly adapted, but they "may tip [their] hat to it." However, even though the show is approaching its final bow, the writer did hint that a movie or a spin-off series "could happen."
McKnight went on to reveal a few details on his next project, Incursion, a hard-R military science fiction series that he described as "Band of Brothers meets Halo." So keep an eye out for that as Spartacus begins winding down. Max Nicholson is a writer for IGN, and he desperately seeks your approval. Show him some love on Twitter and IGN.
