Waterloo Bucks News Release

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks have announced that left-handed pitcher Landon Busch has signed to play with the team for the 2015 season. Busch, a junior from South Dakota State University, is the 23rd player to be named to Waterloo's roster for the squad's 21st season.'

Busch transferred to the Jackrabbits from Kansas State University and is sitting out the 2015 season due to NCAA transfer rules. For the Wildcats, the 6'2", 210-pounder appeared in 16 games, striking out 30 batters in 43.2 innings in 2014. Busch finished the year with a 2-2 record and was a member of the Academic All-Big 12 second team.

"Landon is a lefty with a strong arm that will come into our season fresh, after sitting out the spring season due to transfer rules," said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin. "He comes highly recommended to us from South Dakota State assistant coach Brian Grunzke who we've had a good history with."

Born September 19, 1993, Busch is a native of Brookings, South Dakota. Busch attended Brookings High School where he finished with a 9-2 record and a 2.23 ERA as a senior. Landon is the son of Mike and Dawn Busch.

The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.
