David Hyde Pierce ("Fraiser") has landed a recurring role on season six of "The Good Wife." He'll debut in the seventh episode of the upcoming season.

CBS announced that Pierce plays a highly respected cable news legal commentator who is so disgusted by the corruption and murder rate in Chicago that he decides to run for office in order to affect change.

"We couldn't be more thrilled and flattered that David's making The Good Wife his first TV role since Frasier," said showrunners/executive producers Robert and Michelle King.

The program has already announced several top guests for the upcoming season including Taye Diggs, Steven Pasquale and Connie Nielsen.

"The Good Wife" returns to CBS on Sunday, September 21 at 9:30 PM EST.
