Chicago, join us at the free Pioneering party with Jukebox The Ghost and Eef Barzelay

With our new video series Pioneering—brought to you by Honda—continuing its march toward greatness, it’s time to announce our big finale. On Thursday, June 5 at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, we’re presenting a free concert with Jukebox The Ghost and Eef Barzelay. And it’s not just free—you get to help shape what happens.

As you hopefully know by now, the Pioneering series pays tribute to musical pioneers. We’ve covered The Boss, Ramones, Dolly Parton, and more. (You can find them all at the Pioneering hub, right here.) For this culminating concert, we want you to suggest a pioneer and a song, and the performers will cover one of the suggestions at the show.

Here’s how to suggest a song/pioneer: In the comments below, or via Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram (add #pioneering and #lovetoday to those), let us know what song you’d like Jukebox The Ghost to cover. We’ll present them with the top choices, and the lucky attendees will get to see it all go down live. Five random people who make a suggestion via social media will get an A.V. Club prize pack.*

And at the event, the audience will vote live on a song for Eef Barzelay to sing, which will close the night. He’ll have to learn it quickly, then knock it out of the park.

How do you get to be a lucky attendee? Just RSVP here. Space is limited (and surprises are in store), and we’ll be in touch with the winners a week prior to the event. (You must be 21 or older to attend.)
