Woman facing DUI charge after crash in KY

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A woman is facing a DUI charge after a crash in McCracken County.

It happened in the 4200 block of Shaffer Road.

According to the McCracken Co. sheriff's office, 52-year-old Lesha C. Cunningham was traveling Southbound on Shaffer Road in a pickup truck.

While traveling south, Cunningham veered off onto the right shoulder of the road traveling down a roadside ditch before hitting a road sign.

Cunningham's truck hit a metal culvert and driveway before becoming airborne.

The truck then hit a mailbox and came to a rest against a tree and telephone pole.

Cunningham suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The sheriff's office says Cunningham was suspected of driving under the influence.

The road was shut down for approximately three hours.

Mercy EMS, Jackson Purchase, DES, and Concord Fire Department assisted with the call.

Cunningham was charged with DUI aggravated first offense, possession of open alcoholic beverage inside a motor vehicle and criminal mischief first.
