The Formula One racing mega star Michael Schumacher is on the road to recovery, after spending months in induced coma following a skiing accident in the French Alps in December of 2013.

While Schumi's (Michael Schumacher's moniker) condition improves, another tragic incident has taken place – the man who was suspected to have leaked the German racer's medical records was found hanged in his cell in Zurich.

According to Telegraph UK, the unnamed man worked as a manager at Rega, the Swiss helicopter company that was responsible for transferring the champion from the CHU Grenoble hospital in France, to the University Hospitals of Lausanne (CHUV) in Switzerland.

As of this writing, investigations are still taking place but third party involvement or foul play has more or less been ruled out.

Schumacher was declared out of coma last June and left the French hospital after several months of confinement.

"Michael has left the CHU Grenoble (hospital) to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore," a statement from spokeswoman Sabina Kehm read.

The racer, who is reportedly mute and immobile, is now undergoing further rehabilitation at the University Hospital in Lausanne.

His wife, Corinna, was reported to have built a special facility in their mansion in Gland, Switzerland, to attend to Schumi's special needs during the long course towards the complete recovery hoped for.

Corinna has also recently placed his grey Falcon 2000EX private jet that can carry up to eight passengers and fly at 600 miles per hour, for sale at $26.8 million.

The absence of Michael Schumacher from the racing scene has paved the way for new youngbloods to prosper in the sport.

UK's Lewis Hamilton is set to rapture Schumi's record of four titles at the "Hungaroring" track in Budapest.

While other sponsorships have withdrawn their support following Schumacher's accident, Mercedes is standing by its former driver and brand ambassador.

Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche said, "We have given no thoughts to changing something in his contract."

Schumacher is considered as the greatest Formula One racer of all time with 155 podium positions, 1566 points, 308 Grand Prix entries and seven world championships.
