Jeanie Buss tries to solve Redskins name debate with bold fantasy football stand

Sorry, Washington football players — you aren’t going to make it on Jeanie Buss’ fantasy team this season.

In one of the great pointless gestures of 2014, Los Angeles Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss says she will not draft any Redskins players to her fantasy football team.

Now, this isn’t to say we support the Washington team’s nickname. But does Buss really think her decision to not draft any players on the team to her fantasy — repeat: fantasy — football team really make any sort of difference, in any way, at all?

The funniest part of the tweet is the parenthetical apology to the players she didn’t draft to her imaginary football team, because I’m sure Santana Moss is losing sleep over the fact that Buss didn’t take a late-round flyer on him.

Let this be a lesson to you, Dan Snyder: until you change your team name, Robert Griffin III will never, ever be the starting quarterback for Buss’ fantasy team, which I really hope is called Bussted Coverage.
