Express Inc. is closing one store in Greater Cincinnati after filing for bankruptcy protection this week. The cut comes as the Columbus, Ohio-based retailer looks to shutter more than 100 locations across the U.S. and said it could be acquired in a proposed deal that would save the struggling business.

Express Inc said it has received a non-binding letter of intent from a consortium led by WHP Global including a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Simon Property Group, L. P. and Brookfield Properties for the potential sale of a substantial majority of the company’s retail stores and operations.
