The last original member of The Moody Blues has died. Mike Pinder follows singer and guitarist Denny Laine, who died in Florida last winter.

His expertise on the electromechanical Mellotron helped define the band’s progressive sound in the 1960s and ’70s on albums like “Days of Future Passed.”

Mike Pinder, the Moody Blues’ longtime keyboardist and the last surviving founding member of the Rock Hall-inducted band, has died at the age of 82.
