Palestinian protesters who marched from Freret Street onto the campus of Tulane University forced some classes to be canceled or held remotely and the evacuation of some buildings, the university said Monday evening (April 29).

Columbia demonstrators occupied a university building, hours after the school moved to suspend students who had failed to leave an encampment.

Columbia earlier began suspending students who refused to leave a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus grounds after negotiations failed to come to a resolution.
