NEW YORK (AP) — Large numbers of New York City police officers began entering the Columbia University late Tuesday as dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters remained on the campus. Demonstrators had occupied Hamilton Hall hours earlier after setting up an encampment earlier in the month.

City College is shifting to online classes “until further notice,” administrators announced Tuesday as the campus continued to be roiled by a CUNY-wide pro-Gaza encampment. An emergency slide that fell from a Delta flight just a few minutes after takeoff has been recovered from the Atlantic Ocean in New York City. The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation said that the airline recovered the slide on Sunday in a jetty near Beach 131st Street in Queens,

The flight, which took off from Kennedy International Airport on Friday, safely returned to the airport, where crews saw that the slide was missing, according to the airline.
