NEW YORK, July 17 (Reuters) - The U.S. Mint will resume sales of its popular 2015 American Eagle silver bullion coins on Monday on an allocated basis, it said in a statement on Friday, almost two weeks after running out of stock due to significant demand.

It was founded in 1977 by brothers Jerry and Mark Silverman as a subsidiary of Retail Ventures, Inc., a company which also owned and operated Silverman's Menswear. The Silvermans sold their ownership interests in 1991 to Jacob Price of Knoxville, TN. American Eagle Outfitters is the parent company of Aerie and formerly of 77 kids.
