What is Bing Rewards and how does it work?
Bing Rewards gives you opportunities to earn credits redeemable for rewards. Rewards offers may include earning credits for searching on Bing, or trying out new Bing features. Bing Rewards is offered in addition to the Bing search services available to users. Get Started.
How do I get started?
There are two ways to participate in Bing Rewards:

Participate through the web on Bing by completing the registration process. You may use Bing Rewards on Internet Explorer 7 or later and the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Once you've signed up, your credits will be tracked in the Rewards credit counter in the top right of the Bing header. Get Started

What is the "Rewards credit counter" and where can I find it?
The Rewards credit counter keeps track of how many credits you've earned, current offers available to earn additional credits, and provides easy access to the redemption center. Your Rewards credit counter can be found in one of two places depending on how you’re participating in Bing Rewards:
  • In the Bing.com header, click on the Rewards credit counter:rewards credit counter to access your current offers
  • In the Bing Bar look for the following button:rewards credit counter Click the button to access your available rewards offers
Do I need to buy anything to join Bing Rewards?
No, you don't need to buy anything and there are no hidden fees.
How do I redeem my credits for rewards?
As soon as you've accumulated enough credits, simply go to Redeem, choose your reward and complete the checkout process.
I've ordered a reward. When do I receive it?
Rewards will be sent to the e-mail address you confirmed when you placed your order. Provided the order is in accordance with the Terms of Use, your reward will usually be delivered within 24 hours unless it requires further review. If you have a question about your order, contact us.
Who can I contact if I have questions or want more information?

Earning with Bing Rewards
How do I earn credits?
Earn credits toward rewards by searching with Bing as well as taking advantage of one-time offers which help you discover about the many ways in which Bing helps people get things done. Check your offers to see the number of credits you can earn by searching Bing and for information on all the other ways you can earn. Search and take advantage of offers each day and your credits will add up fast.

Find your offers in these locations:
  • The Dashboard page on Bing Rewards Central.
  • In the top right corner of Bing, click on the credit counter:rewards credit counter. Use the navigational arrows to scroll through multiple offers.
  • If you have the Bing Bar installed, use the following button to access offers directly from your toolbar:rewards credit counter
How do I know I'm getting credits toward rewards?
Your Rewards credit counter will climb as you take advantage of Rewards offers that give you opportunities to earn credits.
Can I earn credits with the Bing Bar?
Yes, you can earn credits through the Bing Bar; however it is not a requirement. You can also participate through the web on Bing. You may use Bing Rewards on Internet Explorer 7 or later and the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Once you've signed up, your credits will be tracked in the Rewards credit counter in the top right of the Bing header. Get Started.
Why did the Rewards credit counter stop counting?
Click your Rewards credit counter to see current available offers to earn credits. Your Rewards credit counter may also have stopped counting if you've reached your credit earning maximum (if applicable), or if your browser is in InPrivate mode in Internet Explorer or an equivalent mode in other browsers where the browser doesn’t collect information. If you are signed into bing.com, another reason your credit counter may no longer be counting is it may have been turned off. Click on the Rewards fly-out in the top right of the screen and click “Turn on”.

How many rewards can I earn?
Microsoft may limit the quantity of credits or rewards per person or per household. The limits on rewards per person or per household will be reflected in the Redemption Center.
Can I earn credits for any Bing searches?
Provided that you have an offer to earn credits for searching on Bing, you can earn credits for Bing searches with the exception of those within the following Bing properties:
Please note, searches you make using your Mobile Phone are not eligible to earn credits.
Can I earn credits by referring my friends to Bing Rewards?
Check whether you can earn credits for referring your friends by visiting the Dashboard page. If the "Refer-A-Friend" offer is available, click on it to learn about earning credits through the offer and any associated conditions.
How many friends can I refer and how much can I earn?
If the offer is available, please check its terms by going to the Dashboard page.
If I refer a friend to the program, when will my account be credited?
If your friend signs up via the link you shared with them during the offer period, your account will be credited within about ten days.
How do I know how many credits I earned for my referrals?
You can keep track of any credits you have earned by checking the Bing Rewards Refer-A-Friend page here.
My friend signed up to Bing Rewards. Why didn’t I earn credits for the referral?
In order for your account to be credited your friend must sign up during the offer period via the link you shared with your friend. If you haven't reached the maximum number of referrals, your account will be credited within about ten days.

If the offer expires, your friend will have 30 days to sign-up in order for your account to be credited.
Am I eligible to join Bing Rewards if I am not a U.S. resident?
No, only U.S. residents (50 U.S. States and D.C.) are eligible to join Bing Rewards.
Why doesn't my rewards balance increase when I search?
You may be part of a Bing Rewards limited-time trial and need to sign in to the full program:
  • If you have a Bing Rewards account, sign in to your account to exit the trial and return to the full program.
  • If you don't have a Bing Rewards account and want to continue earning credits, join Bing Rewards. Your trial credit balance can only be transferred to your account if you sign-up within the trial experience.
Your Bing Rewards Account
What do I need to create a Bing Rewards account?
There are two ways to sign up and use Bing Rewards. You can choose to sign up with either a Microsoft account or your Facebook ID. Information related to your participation in Bing Rewards, including the number of searches you do, is stored in connection with the ID you sign up with.

You must also provide your true first and last name, complete and accurate mailing address (PO Boxes are not accepted), working phone number and email address.
Will my existing Microsoft account or Facebook ID work with this program?
Yes, you can use your existing Microsoft account or Facebook ID to sign up for Bing Rewards.
I previously signed up to Bing Rewards with my Microsoft account. Can I use my Facebook ID instead?
In order to use your Facebook ID instead, you will need to opt out of the Bing Rewards account associated with your Microsoft account and open a new Bing Rewards account with your Facebook ID. Note that you are permitted to have only one Bing Rewards account, per the Bing Rewards Terms of Use.
If you have a balance remaining in your existing Bing Rewards account, you will not be able to transfer those credits over. In addition, if you have achieved a Bing Rewards status, that status will not be transferred to a new account. We encourage you to first redeem your credits for rewards in the redemption center before closing your account. You can access the redemption center here.
To opt out of your Bing Rewards account, click here. Once you have opted out of your old account, open your new Bing Rewards account using your Facebook ID by following the "Sign up" steps here.
What happens if I signed up to Bing Rewards with a Facebook ID and I close or Facebook closes my account?
If your Facebook ID is closed for any reason, you will no longer be able to participate in Bing Rewards with that account.
I have a Rewards account that I opened with my Microsoft account, but I signed up again with my Facebook ID. How do I go back to my original rewards account?
First you need to opt out of the Bing rewards account you created with your Facebook ID by following the steps here. Note that you are permitted to have only one Bing Rewards account, per the Bing Rewards Terms of Use. Once you have closed that account, login to Bing with your Microsoft account to continue earning in your original Bing rewards account.
Will Microsoft share my information with third parties?

I received a message that there has been a fatal error in my Reward Counter and that my participation has been suspended. What do I do?
A fatal error has occurred with your Rewards credit counter and your participation in Bing Rewards, including earning of credits, has been suspended. Please contact customer support to continue your participation in Bing Rewards.
How do I get my Bing Rewards account out of "trial" mode? How do I return to the full program?
Sign in to your account to exit the trial and return to the full program.

How do I redeem my credits for rewards?

Why do reward items change?
As provided in our Terms of Use and so that we can provide participants with a variety of rewards, the available rewards will change often so check Redeem frequently to see what is new. There may be a limited number of some rewards and those will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. We also may substitute similar rewards.
I redeemed credits for a sweepstakes entry. How do I know if I won?
A link to the terms and conditions for the sweepstakes, including how and when winners will be notified, can be found on the product description page for the sweepstakes items in Redeem. After we notify the winners directly, we generally announce them around a week later on our Bing community blog.
I recently completed a redemption. How do I check the status of my order?
To check your order status, you can view your account statement. If you've got any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team.
Can I return or exchange my reward?
Unfortunately, all redemptions are final after you confirm your order.
Why does it say I’m under age 13?
If you are seeing this error, then your Microsoft account may have your birthday recorded incorrectly. Please visit http://account.live.com to correct this error.
Why does it say my phone number is not valid?
The account settings can incorrectly display this error if you submit your phone number in an unexpected format. The account settings expect to see your phone number in the format (123) 4567890.
When will my selected non-profit organization receive the donation?
Once your donation is processed and determined to be in compliance with Bing Rewards Terms of Use, Microsoft will make at least a quarterly donation to the non-profit organization you have selected on your behalf. The amount of Microsoft's donation will be the total contributed by the entire community of people contributing to that organization, including yourself.

What are the Bing Rewards status levels?
The program has three status levels. All new users start out with Member status. By completing the requirements for other levels, members can also progress to Silver or Gold status and reap the corresponding benefits.
How can I check my current status level?

How do I achieve Silver and Gold Status and what are the benefits?

What are my "Lifetime credits" and what's the difference between these and my available credits?
Your available credits are the number of credits you can redeem for rewards. Your lifetime credits are the total number of credits that you've earned since joining the program.
When will I receive my one-time bonus for achieving Silver status?
Your account will be credited automatically upon completion of all the requirements for Silver status.
Can I lose my Silver status?
Once gained, silver status cannot be lost. However, please note that it's not transferable to a new account. If for some reason you need to close your account and later rejoin the program, you'll start out at Member level.
Can I lose my Gold status?
One of the requirements of Gold status is completing a minimum number of searches per month. (To find out what the current requirement is, please see the Status page). In the event you don't meet this minimum in the space of a calendar month, you will lose your Gold status at the end of that month and move back to Silver status. However, as soon as you meet that minimum number of searches during the month, you will regain your Gold status.

How does Bing Rewards work with MSN?
There are several ways to earn Bing Rewards credits on MSN:
  • When you search the web with Bing on MSN your queries automatically count toward your daily Search and Earn offer.
  • Check your Bing Rewards credit counter for opportunities to earn credits for offers that will help you explore and learn more about MSN.
  • You may have an opportunity to earn credits when you use MSN Money for looking up stocks quotes. You can learn more about that offer here.
Where can I find offers for MSN?
You can find any MSN offers currently available in the Bing Rewards credit counter and/or in a credit counter at the top of both MSN Autos and MSN Money.

Please note, on MSN the Bing Rewards credit counter will only show up when you are browsing within the MSN Autos or MSN Money verticals and at this time the Bing Rewards credit counter on MSN is not considered a permanent feature. Check this FAQ pages for the latest news on its status.

What does the Reward Counter in my Bing Bar do?
The Reward Counter collects information about your interaction with Bing and different search engines including the number of web searches you do each day, the types of searches you complete (such as for news or images), and the number of search ads you click on. The information collected includes your system configuration and IP address, and we may collect and store a non-identifiable form of your searches in connection with your Rewards account to assist in the prevention of fraud. This information is collected and stored in connection with your Microsoft account for up to 15 months. Bing Rewards may use the data collected through the Reward Counter, your redemption center activity, and information collected and associated with your Microsoft account to customize your Bing Rewards experience.
Will Bing Rewards work on my computer and browser?
If you're using Bing Rewards through the Bing Bar, the system requirements are as follows:
  • Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3)
  • Internet Explorer 7.0 or later

If you're using Bing Rewards through the web on Bing, you may use Bing Rewards on Internet Explorer 7 or later and the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
When participating in Bing Rewards using the Bing Bar, can I participate on more than one computer?
Yes, you may participate in Bing Rewards on multiple computers (for example, you may participate on both your home computer and office computer). Learn how to get started on your second computer. (Note: If a daily maximum applies to an offer, you will be awarded the combined total from multiple computers, up to the daily allowable maximum.)

Note: When participating in Bing Rewards through the web on Bing (see How do I get started), you can participate on any computer that meets the browser requirements by logging into Bing Rewards.
Can two people participating in Bing Rewards using the Bing Bar earn credits on the same computer?
The Bing Bar can only be registered with one Bing Rewards Account per computer, so two users cannot use the Bing Bar on the same computer to earn credits for their Bing Rewards accounts.

Note: When participating in Bing Rewards through the web on Bing (see How do I get started), two or more people can participate on the same computer, so long as it meets the browser requirements, and they ensure that they log in before using Bing.

How do I turn off InPrivate mode in Internet Explorer?
To sign up to receive credits in Bing Rewards, your browser must not be in the InPrivate mode in Internet Explorer. To turn off InPrivate mode follow the steps below:
  • Close your browser
  • Open your browser without enabling InPrivate mode
How do I enable the Bing Bar in my browser?
To enable the Bing Bar in your browser, follow the steps below depending on your browser:

For Internet Explorer 7 and 8:
  1. In the upper right corner, click Tools Tools
  2. Click Toolbars.
  3. From the expanded list for Toolbars, make sure that Bing Bar is checked.

  2. Click Manage add-ons.
  3. Click Toolbars and Extensions.
  4. Make sure that the status of Bing Bar is listed as "Enabled". If not, click Enable.

Why is the Bing Bar not showing in my browser?
Sometimes, other software installed on your computer can disable toolbars in your browser. Make sure the toolbar is enabled in your browser. See the How do I enable the Bing Bar in my browser? If you’re still having trouble, download the Bing Bar again. Contact support if you're having problems installing the Bing Bar.
How do I uninstall the Bing Bar?
You may uninstall the Bing Bar at any time. However, you will no longer be able to earn credits through the Bing Bar. If you would like to stop participating in the Bing Rewards see the topic: How do I stop participating in the program?

To uninstall the Bing Bar if you use Windows XP:

  • Go to Start, Control Panel, and select Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall a Program
  • Find the Bing Bar
  • Click Remove or Uninstall

To uninstall the Bing Bar if you use Vista or Windows 7:

  • Go to Start, Control Panel, and select Uninstall a Program
  • Find the Bing Bar
  • Click Remove or Uninstall
Why do I get this error message 'There was an error retrieving the latest data…'?
When using the Bing Bar and you see this error message, try the following:
  1. Download and install the latest version of the Bing Bar. You can always find the latest Bing Bar at http://www.bing.com/rewards. Do NOT install from http://download.live.com as these installers are frequently superseded by the versions found at http://www.bing.com/rewards
  2. Click the Rewards button in the toolbar again. This will try to retrieve your Rewards account data once again.
  3. Check your network connections. You need to be connected to the internet in order for us to retrieve data regarding your Rewards account.
  4. Check that your Bing market is set to United States. To check this, visit www.bing.com and verify that the market specified in the top right is set to ‘United States’ or a city, state in the United States. If not, click on this and set your country/region to ‘United States – English’.
Why am I seeing a red exclamation (!) where my Rewards credits used to be?
In order to continue to participate in Bing Rewards you need to sign the new TOU by clicking on the link provided on the TB or by directly going to : bing.com/account.

How come my Rewards credit counter is not showing up in the top right of the Bing.com header?
There are two reasons your Rewards credit counting may not be showing up:
  • You have recently cleared your cookies. Please sign in to Bing using your Microsoft account that you used to sign up for Bing Rewards. Your Rewards credit counter should re-appear.
  • You are using Internet Explorer 7 or higher and you currently have the Bing Bar installed on your browser. If you would like to participate in Bing Rewards through the web on Bing, you must uninstall or disable the Bing Bar. If you would like to participate in Bing Rewards through the Bing Bar, get started here.
Why is my Rewards credit counter still visible when I sign out of Microsoft account on Bing?
  • If you would like to stop earning credits, click the Rewards credit counter and then click the “Turn Off” link.
  • If you would like to sign out of Bing Rewards, clear your cookies by going to your browser options.
Why aren't my Bing Rewards credits showing up in my Rewards counter?
Sign in to Bing with the either the Microsoft account or Facebook ID that you used to sign up for Rewards to see your credit balance and new offers to earn credits. If you are still having trouble submit your question to our Customer Support team.
My credit balance doesn't look right. How do I verify that my credit balance is correct?
If in doubt, sign out of Bing then log back in with the correct Microsoft account or Facebook ID that you used to sign up for Bing Rewards. If the credits still don’t look right to you, please contact Customer Support.
