James Bond Oscars Tribute: 50 Years Of 007 Celebrated At Academy Awards JAMES BOND Tribute at Oscars 2013 Halle Berry and Shirley Bassey 50 years of James Bond films
"Skyfall" failed to earn a nomination for Best Picture, but that doesn't mean the 85th annual Academy Awards were without 007.
To honor 50 years of James Bond, Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron put together a special celebration of the famed and fictional secret agent. Singer Shirley Bassey, who recorded the theme songs from Bond favorites "Goldfinger," "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Moonraker," performed on the telecast.
Halle Berry, a Bond Girl herself, introduced the segment, making sure to mention Bond staples, including martinis, exotic cars and Pussy Galore. "Bond music is a genre all its own, guaranteed to make your heart beat faster and take your breath away," she said.
After a montage of some of the best Bond moments in history, Bassey took the stage and belted out the memorable tunes.
"We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday," Zadan and Meron had previously said in a statement. "Starting with 'Dr. No' back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon."
In the weeks before the show, there had been speculation that the James Bond Oscars tribute would include past James Bond actors, from Daniel Craig to original 007 Sean Connery. (In all, five men have played James Bond, with George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan being the others.)
Before the broadcast Brosnan shot that idea down, telling press that he wouldn't be attending the show. "They'll be missing one," Brosnan allegedly told the Press Association earlier this month when asked about the prospect of a Bond reunion at the Oscars.
The Oscars were all about James Bond this year, as "Skyfall" earned five Academy Award nominations, including Best Original Song for the film's title track. Adele, who sings "Skyfall," was expected to win an Oscar -- the first for the Bond franchise since "Thunderball."

The Road to Katypatra: Get Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" Look For Halloween
As a mega Katy Perry fan, I couldn't have been more excited to work with Jake Bailey, KP's makeup artist. He's transformed Katy for a variety of magazine covers, red carpets, and music videos, and I visited him at Blushington in West Hollywood so he could work his magic on, well, me!
The chosen look was Katypatra, Queen of the Grill, from the "Dark Horse" music video. It features multistep eyeliner application and strategic glitter placement, which is surprisingly not difficult to master at home! (Given you practice it a bit.)
We didn't copy the exact look from the video (we left the curls off of the bottom liner), but I think we put our best paw forward, don't you?
On Kirbie: Clover Canyon dress
By now we all know that Katy Perry is no stranger to cutting and coloring her luscious locks, right? We've seen the pop princess go from black to blue, then back to black and pink, but the pop star is trying something a little different.
