Arizona mother freed after decades on death row
Debra Milke was convicted in 1990 of killing her 4-year-old son Christopher, supposedly to reap the $5,000 from his life insurance. On Friday, however, the 49-year-old was released after evidence was found questionable.
Milke escaped her death sentence after a detective's honesty was questioned. His testimony that Milke confessed was a key part of the prosecution's case. A judge has now overturned her conviction, but she still faces a new trial in Arizona.
