Kurt Angle Suffers Setback In Olympic Wrestling...
TNA "Impact Wrestling" star Kurt Angle won a gold medal for the U.S. in Atlanta in 1996, and he's training again in Pittsburgh, hoping to qualify for the summer Olympics in London at age 43.But with the Team USA trials coming up, Angle suffered a setback Thursday morning at a local wrestling facility that could end his dream."I went in for a shot, and when I pulled out, my hamstring popped, and when that happened, I knew it wasn't good," Angle said. "If this is a tear, my whole leg will turn black and blue, and then I have to rehab it for at least 3 to 4 weeks, and the trials are only 3 1/2 weeks away."Angle spoke with Channel 4 Action News while sitting on a couch with his heavily-taped right thigh elevated and resting on an ice pack.He said the injury occurred at a time while he was toning down his training in anticipation of the trials."I called USA Wrestling coach Zeke Jones and I told him about it, and he said, 'Well, I hope to God that you're ready by the trials,' because technically and condition-wise, I am ready, but I have to stay healthy. I have to be healthy to be at the trials."TNA is promoting Angle to appear in a steel cage match with Jeff Hardy on the "Lockdown" pay-per-view wrestling show April 15 in Nashville, Tenn. Angle's status for that event is not yet known.
