The Head and the Heart - Ghosts
Seven-piece indie folk group the Head and the Heart formed in Seattle in 2009 when the band's songwriters Jonathan Russell and Josiah Johnson met at an open mic night. They soon added Kenny Hensley on keyboard, Charity Rose Thielen on violin and vocals, Chris Zasche on bass and Tyler Williams on drums Williams left his band in Virginia and moved to Seattle to become a join the Head and the Heart after Jon (also a Virginia native) sent him a demo of one of their songs. In 2010 the band toured the Northwest and put out a self-titled album, drawing enough attention to get offers from multiple record labels. In the fall they signed with Sub Pop and released a remastered version of their debut record with one additional song.
