Trilogies are hard and not even The Godfather was able to pull it off completely. Among Sci-Fi, Adventure, and Superhero trilogies, the success rate has had an even harder time. One could even argue that there only a handful of truly successful trilogies: 1. The Star Wars Trilogy 2. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy 3. Romero's Trilogy of the Dead 4. The Toy Story Trilogy 5. The Man With No Name Trilogy Maybe you include The Evil Dead Trilogy or perhaps Indiana Jones but who is going to include X-men or Spider-Man or Pirates of the Caribbean in the list of great trilogies. Not us, that's for sure. The Dark Knight Rises arrives July 20, 2012 and it could rival Star Wars and LOTR for greatest trilogy ever. How do we know? Because Christopher Nolan has gone big in his last Batman film in a way that might make even Avatar look small by comparison. How big is Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises"?
