Which Stores Have Pink Slime Meat?
Supermarket chains across the U.S. were reacting Thursday to reports that 30 percent of ground beef is actually a filler known as "pink slime." Some national chains, like Whole Foods and Costco, told ABC News their beef does not contain fillers. Stop and Shop said the filler is safe to eat. The federal government does not require meat packers or stores to disclose if "pink slime" is an ingredient in their beef. The only way to ensure that the beef you're buying is 100 percent is to make sure it has the "USDA Organic" seal on it.
