The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) performs ASE-guided, non-invasive cardiovascular testing in an IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) accredited lab to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease or injury, including advanced pathologies and anatomies (3-D echocardiography, transplanted heart and lungs, assist device placement and management, transcatheter valvular repair/replacement, congenital abnormalities and malformations, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, percutaneous placement of closure devices for patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects, and research protocols). Performs testing in routine, non-routine urgent and emergent patient care situations. Testing modalities will include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress transthoracic echocardiography.
