What benefits you get with Wellpoint

Since 1996, we’ve been providing New Jersey families with access to great health care. We’ll do the same for you.

Get the care you need from a doctor you choose. We have thousands of doctors in our plan, including many specialists. You can get most services without a referral.
When you have to get care in the hospital, you’re covered. Benefits also include urgent and emergency care.
Benefits include prescriptions and many over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. As an extra benefit for being a Wellpoint member, you can get up to $15 every quarter toward certain OTC products like Tylenol, Band-Aids, and other wellness items! 

Healthy teeth and eyes are an important part of good overall health. Adults and kids can get:

  • Annual eye exams and free glasses
  • $100 contact lens allowance every two years instead of glasses
  • Dental checkups, cleanings and fluoride treatments every six months
Health issues come up when you least expect them. You can get fast, free medical advice from a registered nurse anytime, day or night.
Earn gift cards just for getting annual screenings through our Healthy Rewards program. Moms-to-be can also get gift cards and baby items through our maternal care program.

First, gather up this important information for you and any family members who are applying for health care coverage:

Names, birth dates and Social Security numbers

Most recent federal tax information (if available)

Pay stubs or other job and income information for the last month

Current health insurance information, if any

Other income like unemployment benefits, SSI benefits, pensions or retirement, alimony, etc.
