Op Zop Too Wah is the tenth solo album by Adrian Belew. Following the poor reception given to Belew's previous album (the instrumental guitar-synthesis experiment The Guitar As Orchestra), Op Zop Too Wah is a return to songwriting. The album's mood is reminiscent of the more avant-garde approach carried out by The Beatles in the late 1960s on albums such as "Sgt. Pepper" or The White Album.

The Acoustic Adrian Belew is the seventh solo album by Adrian Belew, released in 1993. While Belew is predominantly known as an experimental electric player with a heavy use of electronic effects and unusual playing techniques, this album was a deliberate attempt to present him as a songwriter and interpreter of the songs of others. Belew plays all songs on acoustic guitar with minimal overdubs. At under 30 minutes, it is the shortest Adrian Belew album.

Twang Bar King is the second solo album by Adrian Belew, released in 1983. Made while Belew was an active member of King Crimson during the early 1980s, Twang Bar King was recorded in between the sessions and tours for Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair. Like its predecessor Lone Rhino, it features the members of Belew's pre-King Crimson band GaGa (this time augmented by session drummer and former Elvis Presley band member Larrie Londin) and the songs on it are drawn from GaGa's repertoire. This would be the last album on which Belew would work with the GaGa lineup. The R&B interlude "Sexy Rhino" continues the "rhino" theme from Lone Rhino and uses a Roland TR-808 drum machine.

Lone Rhino is the debut solo album by Adrian Belew. The album was recorded following years of Belew playing as a supporting guitarist for Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, and shortly after his 1981 debut as the new lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of King Crimson. It features musicians and repertoire from Belew's pre-King Crimson band, GaGa. A video was produced for the track "Big Electric Cat", shot in New York City and opens with a shot of the World Trade Center. Belew's daughter Audie (at the time, four years old) duets with her father on the last track, "The Final Rhino" (which was produced when Belew secretly recorded a piano piece improvised by Audie and then added a guitar line).

Fridays was a sketch comedy TV show that aired on ABC 1980-1982 with a talented cast of performers including later-to-be-big stars Michael Richards (Seinfeld) and Larry David (Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Known for it's edgy performances and subject matter, Fridays featured various musical groups and guest hosts. One host was Andy Kaufman, whose escapades on Fridays were documented in the movie Man on the Moon (with Norm MacDonald as Michael Richards) Compared both favorably and unfavorably to Saturday Night Live, Fridays was certainly the more adult-oriented of the two, dealing more fiercely and directly with sex, drugs and politics. Then again, one of the favourite characters was young Battle Boy (Richards) who plays with his army tanks in his backyard and occasionally bites the heads of his sister's dolls.
